Well, we have an exciting opportunity for 2 Third Party Claims Negotiators to join our team in either Salford Quay’s, Manchester or Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

So, what does a Third-Party Claims Negotiator do we hear you ask? You’ll proactively record and process a portfolio of vehicle damage claims from the Third-Party side. You’ll be contacting policy holders, witnesses and third-party insurers to assess and agree the liability, all the way through to conclusion.

You’ll be great in this role if you have:

  • Good level of experience within Third Party Damage
  • Some knowledge of Credit hire
  • Prior experience in Motor Claims Handling

Job responsibilities: 

  • You’ll proactively manage and efficiently process a portfolio of third party claims 
  • You’ll inform policyholders of the claim process and manage expectations throughout, providing the best service possible
  • You’ll be reserving in line with reserving philosophy
  • You’ll review estimates/invoices and arrange engineering or outsourced assessments where required
  • You’ll check and raise payments in line with reserves
  • You’ll carry out a basic assessment of litigation documents and instruct legal suppliers and dispute cases where necessary
  • You’ll manage highways, rail, street furniture and property damage claims and outsource to suppliers where required
  • You’ll take inbound phone calls & communicate on email. After all our customers are at the heart of everything we do.
  • You’ll carry out other duties, activities and tasks within the Claims and Fraud pillar to ensure all our departments perform effectively and efficiently, so we can meet the demands of First Central’s customers and any third parties
  • When required you’ll work with both the subrogation and credit hire portals

Experience & knowledge 

  • You have previous experience working within a Third Party/Personal Injury environment
  • You have prior experience of Motor Claims Handling and good knowledge of vehicle types
  • You have good knowledge of disputes, split scenarios and case law
  • You have knowledge of Financial Conduct Authority requirements and the regulatory framework relating to claims 
  • You have a working knowledge of Credit Hire and Intervention
  • You have an understanding of fraud controls 
  • You have an understanding of vulnerable customers and providing the right level of service and communication
  • You have an understanding of the FCA consumer duty rules

  • You are able to assess and agree liability
