We’re seeking an Automation Engineer to join our Centre of Excellence for a 6-month fixed term period.  In this role, you’ll champion best practices for utilizing the Power Platform across the enterprise. You’ll engage in diverse projects, mentor and support citizen developers, and explore innovative GenAI tools like Copilot and Azure OpenAI. As an Automation Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in enhancing business operations by delivering solutions that boost efficiency, productivity, and colleague satisfaction.

Could you fit the bill? We're big on working flexibly - you'll spend most of your time working from home, with occasional visits to the office.  But of course, it’s your choice - if you prefer to be in the office more - that's good with us too.  We have offices located in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, Salford Quays, Manchester, and Guernsey it’s your choice – if you live further afield, we’ll accept applications for remote workers! 

Core skills we’re looking for to succeed in the role: 

  • Microsoft Power Platform Development: You’ll be able to design, develop, and implement solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Copilot Studio.
  • Centre of Excellence Collaboration: You’ll enjoy working within a multidisciplinary Centre of Excellence, deploying best practice, providing guidance to others, and ensuring adherence to the governance model.
  • API Development and Integration: You’ll possess experience in developing and implementing APIs and integrations, and automating processes and workflows between Power Platform and other systems.
  • Microsoft Power Platform Proficiency: You’ll have a strong understanding of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Copilot Studio.
  • Microsoft Azure and Office 365 Expertise: You’ll be able to demonstrate and excellent understanding of Microsoft Azure and Office 365 services.

Powering the business with the right tools

What’s involved:

  • You’ll dissect business challenges and propose automation solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • You’ll design, develop, and implement solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Copilot Studio.
  • You’ll document solution deployments.
  • You’ll work within a multidisciplinary Centre of Excellence, deploying best practice, providing guidance to others and ensuring adherence to the governance model.
  • You’ll form collaborative project teams with operational and business stakeholders.
  • You’ll conduct unit testing and facilitate user acceptance testing to ensure quality and usability
  • You’ll support issue resolution and problem solving in conjunction with Infrastructure and Help Desk teams as well as third parties.
  • You’ll collaborate with other developers, analysts, and business units to optimise and enhance Power Platform capabilities.
  • You’ll stay up to date with the latest updates and features of Microsoft Power Platform.
  • You’ll help promote Power Platform to business users.
  • You’ll support in the creation of the Power Platform guiderails for citizen developers.
  • You’ll deliver solutions from inception through to production.
  • You’ll analyse pipeline applications and automations.
  • You’ll be involved in the creation of process documentation.
  • You’ll build, test and rollout solutions.
  • You’ll maintain and review the production estate.
  • You’ll test solutions built by other team members.
  • You’ll provide knowledge support to other team members.
  • You’ll comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times.
  • You’ll ensure compliance with Company Policies, Values and guidelines and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times.

Experience & knowledge

  • Knowledge of FCA requirements (including individual responsibilities in relation to Consumer Duty).
  • Proven experience working with Power Platform.
  • Experience of project methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, PRINCE2).
  • Experience in developing and implementing APIs and integrations, and automating processes and workflows between Power Platform and other systems.
  • Strong understanding of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Copilot Studio.
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Azure and Office 365 services.
