First Central’s going places!

We’re an insurance company with a difference. Forget all your preconceived ideas, we’re about as typical an example of an insurer as the Fleur Burger 5000 is representative of a normal meat patty in a bun (just so you know, it costs $5,000 and is made from Wagyu beef, foie gras and black truffles…) Get the picture? Yes, we take risk away from customers and look after their things. We also know more than a thing or two about data. The stories it tells us mean we have the right information to work out the best cover at the best price and we can spot fraud a mile off. We’re expert underwriters, data whizzes, finance and legal services gurus.  

We’re super proud of what we do and how we do it and we know there’s more success ahead. We dream big and fast. We push the boundaries and achieve great things. But, we can turn our ideas into remarkable feats only because we have determined, inspired colleagues working together to get things done. They believe in our goals and support each other to make them happen. We’re ambitious. There were only 62 of us when we started back in 2008 and there are now more than 1,200 colleagues. All constantly looking to do better. To adapt and thrive. To develop First Central and themselves so we improve and carry on leading the market.  

Our bold plans mean we’re on a mission. We’re first and foremost ‘people people’, and we need more talented team players to join the gang. The last 75 days have shown how seriously we’re taking the search. We welcomed 125 remarkable people into new roles with our teams. We’ve focused on making our processes simpler and smoother so they’re quicker than ever. The difference is impressive, the average time it’s taken to hire a new colleague dropping from 48 to 38 days. Plus, in yet another step towards achieving our target for Women in Leadership roles of 40% by 2025, we increased the number from 32.6% to 36%. Maybe we’ll have to raise the target again (we’ve already boosted it once!) 

Think we’re blowing our own trumpet a bit too enthusiastically? We spread the word about First Central’s cooperative, buzzing community because it’s true and we want more people to come and enjoy its warmth and energy. We’re sharers.
